Banksia are woody plants ranging in form from tree to prostrate shrubs. The tallest recorded tree of Banksia Seminuda was 98 feet. Most Banksia grow in soils typically low in nutrients but have developed specializes roots to compensate. No Banksia is wind pollinated; all banksia depends on animals. Most widespread use is in the cut flower trade being part of the world-wide industry. Banksia has been used in artistic endeavors, such as clothing, paintings, photography and large floral displays.
